Bead Soup Blog Party! Reveal Day! Party!

I am only one in about 500 blogs participating in this Blog Party! 

Revealing my lovely beads sent off months ago...  to my partner Catie all wrapped up. I think she liked it!

It's funny because we sent off similar items to each other, he he, great minds think alike :)! 

I sent her a green group of beads.

 A purple group of beads.

A pink group of beads.

Some silver fun things.

A lovely group of pearls. Stir them all together and you've got a great bead soup! I neglected taking a picture of it but maybe Catie took one on her blog. Fingers crossed.

This is the Bead Soup! I love the color combo it's so delicious in the bowl. :)

I have not had much time to work on making anything spectacular yet with the baby and moving house. I did make a few little starters though...

You'll have to check back later for a finished necklace or bracelet at a later date. I am looking forward to making something beautiful with the large glass bead as a focal point!

It's Bead Soup Swap time! This is my second year joining. I have disguised the Bead Soup collections as colorful outer space modules due to the fact that it is a surprise to my partner in waiting.

Let me tell you Lori Anderson, who is our gracious hostess with the mostess really knows how to pick swap partners! Big high five to Lori!! I love my partner Catie.

I went a little overboard with my Bead Soups this year making 5 in all. I have so many beads that I wanted to use, I could not stop. So needless to say, she is getting a full pot! I hope she knows she does not have to use them all, just the ones that sing to her heart. You see Catie is a lampworker. I got together the beads I thought might inspire her and some extra beads. I can't wait to see what she makes!

Let me tell you about my lovely partner Catie- she loves Buddha, meditation, yoga and all the colors I love, like purple, green, light blue. She is a very wonderful, kind and giving woman! She spends her days as a nurse and a consultant for a Hospice Company. The most important job in the world is helping others pass away peacefully. She has even taken a class in End of Life Care Practitioner Training through the Metta Institute.( A Buddhist program) How cool!

I received my Bead Soup from Charlie!

I got my package sent with love from Clay Space on Valentines Day! How wonderful :)

She packaged everything up in individual bags and labels. When I put them all together this is what I had...

A beautiful handmade owl and clasp as well as a ceramic round piece. Many beautiful beads and stones Thanks Charlie now I am off to make something beautiful out of these.

In Memory of Marianna...

Lori Anderson a wonderful woman with spunk and creativity galore who has made the most wonderful Bead Soup Party Blog Hops. It's a wonderful Hop where you get bead soup from your partner and then you create something out of it. What a great idea Lori! 

I have signed up for her Memories and Thanks Blog Hop. Here is what Lori said about this Blog Hop...

"You never know what you might mean to someone.

In order to participate in the Bead Soup Blog Party, you need to have a blog.  My friend Marianna emailed me, excited about the party but needed help to build a blog.  No problem.  We talked about what she wanted and I made it for her, and she started blogging.

The Bead Soup Blog Party came and went but Marianna hadn't signed up.  I'd sent her a few emails to see how she was but there wasn't a response.  Then one day, her daughter emailed me to let me know Marianna had suddenly passed away.

That news just took the breath out of me.  I miss her emails and constant cheerfulness.

Then a few days ago, I got a box in the mail from her daughter.  I knew the box was coming, and that it had something in it from Marianna that she hadn't had a chance to mail before her death.  What I DIDN'T expect was for each bead to be individually wrapped with Marianna's personal messages attached to each one, and a card that told me how she valued my friendship.

I can't let that go.

This blog hop is both for Marianna and for those people in our lives who mean a lot to us -- a mom, a friend, a brother -- anyone who has meaning to us.  Create a piece of jewelry that tells that story."

Marianna liked red. I chose red wire and red beads and went to town! I also made these while thinking of my Mom who is very special to me. She is supportive of my creativity. She loves hearts! I do too, so I made many wire hearts and wire wrapped them with beads that my Mom had brought into the shop. I love that my Mom always brings me beautiful beads! Thanks Mom :)

Wordless Wednesday!

Beautiful beads turned into a mixed media necklace!

Beautiful beads I have gathered around this lovely pendant face by Beadfreaky on Etsy.

Here is what was in my bead tray! Garnets, yellow pearls, green and brown agate, a silver heart, buttons, glass beads, teardrop glass beads, silver seed beads, stars, sweet little silver beads. Wire and other fun things. I wanted to try creating whatever came to mind...

 I got to bending the wire and making the pendant. I wanted to try adding some material this yellow was just right. It looked like hair. The wire wanted to wrap around to look like orbiting planets so I added a few beads, spirals and screws.

 It all started coming together. I added the button and star wrapping the beads. Then this piece popped out at me and said, "Add me!     It reads Create & Be Inspired!    Perfect for this necklace. I had been wanting to try wrapping a pendant that connects on both sides. It worked! Stringing the garnets and silver seed beads was next. I added a few of the green and brown agate they are cut to sparkle!

Here is the finished product a mixed media necklace.
